My December vacation this year was all about the weddings – my wedding, my best friends wedding and her brothers engagement. Weddings always call for pretty outfits! But this time I needed some ethnic wear, outfits I have never owned. I tried shopping for them and quickly realized I had to drop a boat load of cash to get something I loved, oh and it would take about 3 to 6 weeks to be made! So I penned down my own design!
It took me 2 whole days, but I drew out my outfits and shopped every little piece of material it needed and shipped everything to my wonderful mum. I can only draw, but she created the entire outfit from scratch and it was like breathing life into my drawing 🙂
As you can see I wrote down what every piece of material was. I shopped for all the material, the zari boarders, the resham boarders and the zardosi boarders from Ethinic Dukaan. I bought the lace for the top on Etsy from the ArtsyCraftsyDesigns store . Both online stores.
My mum gave me a perfect fit as always and made my outfit exactly like my drawing. It was so much fun seeing my outfit come alive!
I knew I wanted a lovely contrasting color for the pink, so I bought the royal blue border for the dupatta. I am also carrying a lovely blue Halston Heritage clutch. My Marc Jacobs watch complimented this outfit perfectly. I am also wearing Anthropologie earrings and sporting a beautiful bright lipstick from Bite.
You can’t see them, but my Steve Madden golden glitter shoes were a perfect fit for this look!
I am wearing my hair up in a low bun with a deep side part to show off the beautiful sculpted back design!
My first time in a Lehenga felt really good and made me feel like a princess. Now all I need to do is find an excuse to wear this again 🙂
