2018 is here and that means a time for resolutions. I love making resolutions, I feel like it gives me something to hold myself accountable to. This year I have some themes and I want to try and make resolutions for each one 🙂 So here goes…
Read a Book a Week
I have already started this one but I want to make sure I keep it going. This has really helped me widen my knowledge both professionally and personally. I think this one also fits into my “for work” bucket 🙂
This year I want to hold myself accountable to wisely spending money. I want to make a budget and hold myself to it. I have realized that getting what I want whenever I want it amounts to me being spoiled and a little bratty (albeit with myself!) but I still want to curb that.
Assume Positive Intent
This one might seem simple but believe me it’s hard when you’re in the middle of a politically challenging situation or a heated conversation. Assuming positive intent will always help you empathize which always goes a long way. I want to stick to doing this.
I’ve always been told that I am a clear communicator but I want to take it a step further. I want to be able to take simple facts and tell a story. People listen more when it’s a story they relate with it. This one is a hard for me but I won’t give up 🙂
An Inspirational Leader
I want to be able to grow from a leader that’s dependable with executing the tactical ‘stuff’ to a leader that can set a strategic vision. One that can inspire people to then come along on the execution journey that leaves a lasting and rewarding impact. This phrase sums it up well for me – ‘A leader Should Create Hope, Build Trust, Provide Stability and Show Compassion’
I want to be a better and more effective coach to all my coachees. I have done a few working sessions on ‘How to be an Effective Coach’ and I want to make sure I use that knowledge to help other people. I don’t want to fish for them but enable them to fish!
I want to be more proactive in enabling other women, feminism is needed in the world so that we pave the way for the women after us and help them break the proverbial Glass Ceiling.
This one has been on my resolutions list for years now. My husband says I have gotten better but I still have a ways to go. So this one makes my list again. Try try and you will succeed, right?!
At work and in a social setting I am very adaptable and flexible. But at home I feel like I don’t do that and I need to. Better late than never right? This year I am going to try very hard to be more flexible.
Me and my husband travel for work. We spend the weekends together that that’s it. But I want to make sure our weekends are for us so we can actually be together. I want to make sure I don’t pile up all my chores for this time and instead spend it with my husband.

Keeping to a Schedule
This one is hard for me. But this year I need to try hard and do this. I am going to try using a calendar to schedule blog time so that I keep to a schedule and hold myself accountable.
I want to try creating opportunities for my blog this year. I worked with a couple of brands last year and I want to do more this year. I am going to put more effort into this one and let’s see what it yields 🙂
I want to increase the number of posts I do a week. I am going to change the want to a will and do it!
I am very excited for a brand new year, a year that will be full of excitement, opportunities, family, friends and fun. 2018 bring it on!
