Valentine’s Day Outfit Tips (StyleWe Collaboration)

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! Every year on Valentine’s day my husband cooks for me. That’s about the only time he ever cooks and I must say it always turns out yummy! When you think about Valentine’s Day it’s natural to associate it with a red or pink dress. But I wanted to blow up that concept just a little bit and give all my girlfriends some alternate ideas and tips for pulling together a great look!

Flowy and Girly

If you’re a romantic then this tip is definitely for you. Pick out a nice flowy number, think Marilyn Monroe in her white dress and the dress is blowing in the wind. Doesn’t that paint such a lovely picture, I’m sure we all want to be her in some way and this day seems like a great opportunity! I am wearing a gorgeous dress from StyleWe. It has a lovely flare skirt and a cute little ruffled off-shoulder top that seems just about perfect for this day!

Celebrate in White!

When I said I wanted to blow up the concept of a red or pink dress here is what I meant. Valentine’s Day this year is a lovely day, not ice-cold and definitely no snow. People in tropical countries can use this tip all the time but us Chicagoans need to embrace it when we can! Pick a lovely white dress like it were a spring day, I mean it sure feels like it so why not? My pick, like I said, is the dress from StyleWe. The best part about a white dress is that you can accessorize in so many wonderful ways truly making Valentine’s Day your personal fashion expression!

Add Pops of Red or Pink

Now when I talked about blowing up the Valentine’s Day stereotype on colors a bit, I really only meant a bit. I love my pops of color as you know and what better way to introduce a lovely pink than through my accessories?! It is still Valentine’s Day after all, so add in some pops of pink or red or both if you like. I have gone in for my lovely hot pink Kate Spade bag and used a Loft Silk Scarf to accessorize the bag. I love how the scarf introduces yet another color really making this look pop!

Bow It Up!

Every year my husband gets me a beautiful bouquet of flowers on Valentines day (if I am at home to enjoy them that is!). So whenever I think about Valentine’s Day another thought often pops into my head, the bouquet delicately held together with a bowed ribbon. I love bows, it’s very feminine in my opinion and tightly associated with love. So I have incorporated some bows in my look very subtly! My lovely nude bow pumps and my gold bow belt add a wonderful touch to my outfit!

Head Bands are Cute

I personally love headbands. I think they are the cutest! Whenever I try to get a nice girly look going I often try to incorporate the headband. This time I have picked a lovely white and gold headband which is very Grecian in style from Francesca’s.
