Ever look at the runway fashion shows and wonder ‘how on earth do I wear this’? If you’re that girl, just like me, then this post is for you. I am taking some of springs hottest trends and turning them into everyday fashion!
The best part about the Romwe top is that it nails so many different spring trends in a very wearable way. I am hoping you get some ideas from this post 🙂
Especially Long and Statement Sleeves
When I saw these on the runway I was intrigued. They look great when you have a tall, thin model walking down the ramp. But then I thought about me, a petite girl trying to carry off these sleeves. It would drown me! So I knew I couldn’t wear the puffy sleeves, or the ones where they extended beyond the end of my hands. So a great option for me was to have the material be soft and flowy, make sure the sleeves had a band at the wrist so they couldn’t extend beyond my hand and viola the effect was stunning! The sleeves created a lovely bell effect, the sleeves were long but didn’t drown me. Definitely statement sleeve worthy!
This sheer trend is definitely taking over spring and summer. Not comfortable wearing something sheer? Not to worry, sheer doesn’t have to be you showing off your bare body under transparent material! My take on this trend is simple, pick something sheer and then layer it over something strappy. You could opt in for a lacy delicate inner or a strap crop top, that way you are giving the illusion of sheer without actually feeling uncomfortable. Now everyone can see either the lovely lace or perhaps a little glimpse of you around your waist if you wore the crop top!
Cutouts, Cutouts, Cutouts!
This trend was all over the runway from Versace to Proenza, but there is no way I could carry off cutouts in random places on my clothing. This top gave me a lovely option to take this high fashion trend and turn it into everyday fashion. The cutout here is in the sleeves. A delicate slit showing off my shoulders and a tad bit of skin on my arms. Now I can wear this trend with confidence!
Accent the Waist Line
As a petite girl, I always try to accent my waistline. It always gives me the illusion of being taller than I actually am! This particular styling fav is a huge trend this spring. There are various takes on it like the fold over waist or the cinchers, but of all the ones I have seen using a metallic belt is my fav!
I have talked about this trend in my post here, do check it out as well for more ideas!
All in all I have kept this look very neutral to keep the focus on the trends and it is spring so pastels are in vogue!
I hope this helps with giving you some ideas of how to take runway trends and turn them into everyday fashion trends of your own. Always remember that there is no better fashion statement than your confidence, so mould any trend to suit you and you will be in a win win situation!
