When you need a look that can transition at the drop of a hat from chic to practical always have an anorak on hand! I have discovered the hard way that just because the day started out warm it doesn’t mean it will stay that way! On such days these outfits will come in handy.
Lately I have been really digging the anorak look. So I thought I could share a couple of ideas of how you can wear it out and about. Especially since it has really kept me warm when Chicago decided to turn cold on me!
Put it Over Some Skorts!
I really love gingham, it is so versatile and I can use it in so many outfits 🙂 I have kept this look really simple. A gingham shirt from J.Crew, pair of skorts from Loft and a belt from J.Crew for my core look. Then I threw on the anorak over that, made sure to pull the gingham sleeve through for a layering effect and the outfit is basically done. I have accessorized with a floral necklace from J.Crew as well as a pair of sunglasses and a crossbody both from Marc Jacobs. Since I am wearing a pair of skorts, it was an awesome way to show off my amazing pair of Aldo laceups that I have grown to love in a very short time frame 😀
This lovely casual look is so weekend appropriate, you can stroll around shopping and you never have to worry about getting cold or warm 🙂

Model Off the Clock
Here you have an anorak thrown over a lovely striped dress. Keep in mind that solids and stripes look really pretty together. You can go with just about any color for the anorak. This look is very Gigi Hadid. She has many a time worn something very similar. I like the tomboy effect for this look by pulling in a pair of trainers! The necklace and the bright bag are a nice girly touch to the look as well 🙂
