Have you seen Pantones Spring 2017 palette yet? If you haven’t let me tell you that this year spring is going to be vibrant and full of life! The spring colors this year are fabulous. Have you seen any trends yet? Well I love those too, there are some fun trends this spring! I wanted to share some spring looks with you to give you some ideas of how to use these gorgeous colors and trends!
I really do love the 2017 spring color palette. As I was looking around on Polyvore I found the Pantones Color Combos palette too. I love how they suggest some amazing pairings. It’s also really great to see nude shades flowing through all the pairings. The reason I love nude shades is that nude shoes always adds inches to my legs 🙂
I have pulled together most of these colors in the looks you will see below. This should give you some great ideas of how to pair these colors together.
Hot Pink in Spring!
Pastels and Neons!
This outfit is inspired by the bright blue skies along with the green grass I’m going to see this spring! I am wearing a pastel green shirt from Loft with the sleeves rolled up. This is the most comfortable shirt I own so far. I have paired my pastel green shirt with bright blue J.Crew jeans. The contrast is awesome! I am also wearing a necklace from Francesca’s that ties in all the colors.
To show off my booties I have folded up my jeans a bit. These Lucky Brand booties are comfortable and have a tall heel, which is perfect for me 🙂 I am also wearing a bracelet from Anthropologie and a ring from Francesca’s.
If you want to make this outfit more casual, I would suggest tying a knot in the front with the shirt, it looks real cute that way!
Two spring looks done, plenty more to go 🙂
Pairing up complementary colors is so much fun! When a palette has so many wonderful colors to choose from it makes styling complementary looks even better. I am wearing a cute and comfy cardigan in a soft blue layered over a white silk blouse both from Banana Republic. I have paired this with a beautiful bright orange necklace from J.Crew. Both the colors are featured in the spring palette!
I have worn the layered top over a pencil skirt with a lovely print. This combination gives the look a nice structured finish and definitely adds a nice new dimension to this outfit! The skirt was a great find at Banana Republic. It fits well and best of all it has pockets! I am also carrying a bright orange Tory Burch bag. I love the orange and blue color combination. The two colors together reminds me of a clear blue sunny skies!
For chilly springs I am wearing a J.Crew coat that features the same blue-orange contrast!
The InStyle Combination
This is such a great color combination for transitioning from winter to spring. I have taken the colors suggested by InStyle – Begonia, Hunter and Camel and added my own touch, the animal print pumps and a maroon necklace! The best part about this is that these colors are so close to the ones featured in the spring palette! Another great add to my spring looks collection!
This SheIn blouse was the perfect candidate for this outfit. The color, the cut and the fit are in one word amazing! I paired this blouse with a J.Crew woolen skirt in Camel. I am also wearing a Loft necklace in Maroon for an extra pop of color.
Now for the accessories, I am carrying a Hunter green Tory Burch bag with a calf hair finish on the front pocket. For my shoes, I stuck with calf hair and am wearing a pair of animal print pumps. The earrings I am wearing were perfect for this look, these Kate Spade earrings in green and pink complement the outfit perfectly!
Dreaming of Greens
For this look I definitely think Lake Michigan was on my brain. The beautiful colors of the lake really stuck with me on my bus ride to and from work along Lakeshore drive. So for this look, I have taken inspiration from the colors of the lake but adapted the outfit for one of my spring looks! I am wearing a look entirely from J.Crew 🙂 The beautiful Sawyer Sweater was on sale and I couldn’t resist the lovely color. This sweater looks great paired with a turquoise pleated skirt and a lovely green scarf.
I am also wearing a pair of booties from Lucky Brand. A pretty pair of Kate Spade earrings that matched my green theme was the obvious choice for this look. The lovely envelope clutch from J.Crew introduced a dash of gold to the look like the rays of the sun hitting the lake waves! I finished the look with a rose gold watch from Marc Jacobs, a lovely rouge lipstick from YSL and a manicure in a deep shade of wine!
Style Your Pastel Skirt -1
This beautiful pastel pencil skirt gave me so many spring looks I absolutely love it. Especially when you’re a traveling consultant, the fewer pieces you pack the better! The lovely soft blue shade is also featured in the spring palette. I have four looks for you with this one skirt!
For this first look, it’s a lovely daytime look and it came together so nicely with this J.Crew Gingham shirt and the pencil skirt. The transition of monochrome to gingham is very eye-catching and oh so pretty! I am also carrying a Tory Burch calf hair bag in a lovely shade of green! I have used my leopard print pumps to show a slightly edgy take on this look vs a crisp and classy finish you could get with a pair of nude pumps.
Style Your Pastel Skirt -2
The first look involved a sharp contrast between the skirt and the top but here the colors are more toned down. I have paired this lovely J.Crew skirt with a J.Crew plaid popover top. The top has hints of light aqua and baby pink keeping the entire look fairly pastel in flavor. All colors in the spring palette again. I love how cute this look turned out!
You all know that I really love my pops of color, so I introduced my beloved Kate Spade bag to the look. I love the bright pink contrast with the light aqua. Isn’t it to die for? I am also wearing a lovely pair of Tory Burch peep-toe wedges in a brown shade. These shoes are so comfortable with just about the right amount of elevation if you have to wear them all day, like to work. I love my accessories, my husband keeps telling me I have too many, but really you can never have too many I say! I am wearing a J.Crew necklace, a White House Black Market bracelet and a SheInside ring.
Style Your Pastel Skirt -3
For my third look, I am using some color theory again, blue and orange are complimentary colors and so they pair really well. Since the blue is a very light shade I have gone in for a bold orange. I have kept this look really cute and casual. The J.Crew top along with the H&M necklace makes for a gorgeous combination. The pumps, also from J.Crew, add a touch of edginess to the look that I personally couldn’t do without!
I have accessorized with a Marc Jacobs watch, a golden cuff from Anthropologie and a delicate SheInside ring. I am also carrying a Louis Vuitton bag.
Style Your Pastel Skirt -4
This is the last one of the spring looks with this beautiful J.Crew pastel pencil skirt. Four different looks all absolutely perfect for work!
This look is a classic work look, and is very easy to pull together. I love how the dark green Marc Jacobs blouse is offset against the pale baby blue J.Crew skirt. The bracelet from J.Crew matches the two colors perfectly! That was sheer luck and it looks lovely 🙂 This work look called for the lovely Ann Taylor pearl necklace. It really classes up this outfit.
The Louis Vuitton bag is another great work staple. Want to be stylish and yet be able to carry a laptop? Then this is your bag! The Tory Burch wedges complete the look with an added touch of comfort and everyday chic! I love the side ponytail, it looks cute and is very practical for work 🙂
Ruffle it Up!
Ruffles are on trend this spring. So I pulled out my Loft dress in a lovely shade of pink with a cute little ruffle around the hem. This monochrome dress is perfect for work and dinner alike. You could throw a white blazer over it or even a black blazer to get a little more professional with the look. Or you could wear it like I have and turn it into a dinner look! Either ways you won’t go wrong.
I love the bright hue of pink for both spring and summer, so you could transition this dress from spring to summer too!
Burnt Orange and Gingham
I absolutely love the burnt orange color! It’s so great for fall and is a hit this spring! Did you know that one of the colors in the 2017 Spring color palette from Pantone features exactly this color – it’s called Flame! So that inspired me to pull together a transitionary outfit from winter to spring.
Spring looks are all about light layers. So I picked a lovely J.Crew gingham shirt in the same color family but darker. I layered the lapel jacket from Shein over the shirt. Now to take care of those long jacket sleeves, I folded up the sleeves and layered the shirt cuff over it! To finish off the outfit, I picked a simple pair of back leggings from White House Black Market for my bottom.
I kept the accessorizing simple, I am wearing a lovely pearl necklace to add a preppy touch to the look. My leopard print Kate Spade bag adds a touch of drama and the whiskey colored boots finishes off the entire look really nicely.
There you have it, a variety of spring looks to get inspiration from. I have incorporated the spring palette, some trends, some patterns and covered a range of occasions from night out to work! I hope you love this guide <3
