Off Shoulder Top Styling Tips + Link Up

I bought this gorgeous off shoulder top this past weekend and I couldn’t wait to style it and share the looks and tips with all of you!

There are a few things you can do to spice up a simple flowy off shoulder top and still keep it looking great on a petite frame. So here goes!

Pair it With Skinny Jeans

Remember how I talked about wardrobe essentials for petite girls in this post, well I am following my own tips! When your top is flowy make sure your bottom is fitting! The perfect piece to match that criteria was none other than a pair of skinny jeans. To give it two different takes I have styled one look with a pair of classy skinny jeans and the other with a pair of distressed skinny jeans! Both looks make sure that I don’t look short!

Add Some Structure

What do I mean by this? Well you have read time and again about how I want to make sure I add structure to my tiny frame. This creates the illusion of length making me look taller. There are a couple of ways you can do this with a flowy top. One was is to tuck in the top on one side showing off a belt and there by some structure. This also gives the eye a place to start defining your leg length! The second way is to cinch your waist with a pretty belt. This also makes your legs look longer and sometimes longer than the first trick there by allowing me to wear a pair of flats (like in the pic above)!

Accessorize

When you have an off shouldered top sometimes picking the right accessories could be a tad bit challenging. There is one simple rule here, either stay above or well below the neckline! This way you can adjust your top’s neckline up or down without having to bother if your necklace still shows! I have used a Shein necklace in one look. It’s long and has some beautiful bright blue feathers making it stand out against the top.

For the second look I have used a choker from Ettika. Ettika is my most recent collaboration. Their delicate and stunning pieces are as beautiful in person as they are on their site. Show Off Those Shoulders!

I went out of my way to find this amazing J.Crew off shoulder top and so I was going to make sure I showed off my shoulders! How do you ensure this? Well, have your hair tied up ofcourse! There are a number of ways to do this, a high ponytail like I have chosen, a bun, some braids etc!
