I am back after being MIA for a while. I am excited to share my pregnancy journey with all of you. I know I gave you a sneak peek when I was pregnant on the blog and there are more posts on my Instagram page. Here is a candid look at my journey.

The Discovery
We were back from our Europe vacation and thats when I discovered I was pregnant. I took at least 3 tests before I believed my eyes! Needless to say we were over the moon with excitement 🙂
First Trimester
We quickly learned that the pregnancy journey is ten months and not nine really, who knew?! I started to realize all the adjustments I needed to make. A quick summary of the big ones – no wine (whaaaat?!), no sushi, no runny yolk, no rare meat and thats just to name a few. The ten months seemed like ten years!
Then we had our first ultrasound, everything felt real and we fell in love with the little peanut on the screen.
I did not get morning sickness but i did get extremely tired in the evenings. The first trimester was honestly not bad at all!

Second Trimester
Now many people say that this is the best trimester, but here is where everything got really hard for me. It’s so true when people say everyones journey is different and unique. I thought I was in for a smooth sailing trimester but about mid way through my second trimester everything started changing. I started developing almost every pregnancy induced pain there was. It was difficult to not be able to do things you once easily could. Simple things like walking around became ridiculously hard. Breathing was hard and eating was hard since I constantly felt full.
I developed pregnancy induced carpel tunnel syndrome followed by costochondritis. Who knew that this wonderful gift came with so many tests of your strength, patience with your body and just the determination to still hold on to some level of independence you once had. My husband kept telling me I was stubborn when I wanted to do things by myself, simple things like taking my boots off was a real challenge!

The best part about this trimester was being able to feel her moving. I absolutely loved feeling her wriggle and roll around.
The second trimester was hard but at least now I could feel her and that was amazing!

Third Trimester
The third trimester to me was the start of seeing the finish line 🙂 I wanted to hold our baby in my arms. I was done with the dietary restrictions, the pain, the inability to walk normally and the constant peeing!
The third trimester initially also came with her head-butting my ribs. She was breach, it hurt real bad but every time she did that I knew she was ok.
Being pregnant for me was hard. I was paranoid about how much she moved. Did I sleep correctly at night? If I got sick I didn’t want to take any medication for the fear that it might affect her. Now looking back I should not have read every horror story out there and driven myself crazy!

I know many women love being pregnant, it’s safe to say I wasn’t one of them!

My pregnancy journey has taught me a lot. I learned that asking for help doesn’t mean you’re weak but it means that you have a partner you can trust and depend on to walk the journey with you. I’m so thankful I have that.
I used The Bump app to capture a week by week progress of my bump. I wanted to treasure the memories.
Maternity Fashion
When all was said and done, I gained 28 pounds. With how much I love fashion I wanted cute maternity wear and bonus points for pieces I could wear post baby 🙂 I exclusively shopped at Lulus, A Pea in the Pod, J.Crew (all the loose stuff), Zara, ASOS Maternity and Gap Maternity. I will admit I scored some really cute pieces. Lulus had stuff I could wear in my late stages of pregnancy and after pregnancy too! I will post about this in more detail in a later post so stay tuned 🙂

She Made an Early Debut!
At 38 weeks and 1 day, I was sitting and writing my baby shower thank you notes. That’s when my water broke! At the time I wasn’t sure that that’s what happened. We drove to the hospital, I walked two blocks to get to labor and delivery, it was then that they confirmed it was in fact my water that broke! We were going to be parents and it suddenly got real!
At 12:50 am on December 8th Chloe Isabella Stitz was born at an even 6lb and our life as we knew it was changed forever! We are so in love with out little peanut

How was your pregnancy journey? I would love to know 😘
xoxo
