My baby shower was a day I will never forget! It was the first shower I had ever been to and it was for me 🙂 I will never forget all the love, laughter and good wishes from that day!
The only thing I did for this shower because I had no idea how I needed to help, was pick a venue 🙂 The Indigo & Violet Art Studio in Chicago was absolutely perfect! They had various art options that were perfect for showers. Their options ranged from painting onesies to wooden alphabets! I picked the wooden alphabet and wooden playing blocks. It felt really special to have alphabets and blocks painted by my close friends that I could use as decor in our baby girls nursery 🙂
The Decor & Food
The studio had various decor packages and so they arranged for the flowers, balloons and decor. Two of my really good friends that hosted the my shower laid out the food, the dessert and the mom-osa bar 🙂 (There was alcohol too!) My friend Molly, made me such an adorable diaper cake, I absolutely loved it! The decor was beautiful, the food delicious and the cupcakes were super yummy!
My Wonderful Hostesses
Having never been for a shower before it was really funny when I was trying to help. One of my hostesses told me to butt out of the planning in such a sweet and funny way I still laugh about it to this day! They did absolutely everything, from planning the wonderful games, to coordinating with the venue, to make sure every little detail was perfect! I absolutely couldn’t have asked for a more thoughtful, well organized and beautiful shower. I’m a very lucky girl to have them as my friends <3 Thank you Molly and Staci, you both are the best!
I had picked out my outfit a while before the shower. I bought my gorgeous dress from ASOS. I absolutely loved the Bardot dress with the pleated effect. The color block detail was perfect and matched the decor 🙂 For once, I really couldn’t wear heels, thanks to my knees being so so painful, so I picked a low pair of nude wedges with a cute bow detail. I have accessorized with a rose gold watch from MVMT, a rose gold belt from ASOS and a baby pink pair of Baublebar earrings.
One of my friends took my to the Drybar to get my hair all nice and pretty before the shower 🙂
I never imagined how much fun we all would have painting all the alphabets and blocks. My hostesses had little advice and prediction cards for everyone to fill out too. So I will some wonderful keepsakes from the shower that I will cherish forever!
All in all, the day was perfect and the shower was amazing! Now I can’t wait for my little girl be here already <3
