Floral prints are really beautiful this time of the year. Sometimes I get a little worried about coming off too girly when choosing floral prints but I still love them. Oh and my mum absolutely loves floral prints and for Mother’s Day, I would like to dedicate this post to her! Here are some ideas of how you could style your floral skirt.

Professional and Polished
The formula for this is simple, pick your floral skirt, preferably pencil, choose your favorite monochrome button down, get into a pair of pumps, select a structured bag and choose a single piece of jewelry between a bracelet and a necklace and you’re ready! For the jewelry a pair of pearl earrings or any pair of studs are a staple.

Print on Print
Stripes and flowers make for such a lovely combination! I know many people get a little worried to try print on print. Keep one thing in mind, when one print is simple and geometric you can safely combine it with a fairly complex print like floral. The rule works for gingham and floral too!

Top it off with Chambray
Want to make your look more casual and effortless then choose a chambray top. You could even tie it up in a knot in the front for an added touch of relaxed. The chambray top is such a staple for your wardrobe, combining it with a floral skirt is just one way to use it! Now choose a pair of flats to keep it comfy! Carry a crossbody and you’re good to go.

Monochrome Lace is Pretty
Lace has very obvious texture, so you want to keep it simple and let the skirt do all the attention grabbing! Pick a monochrome lace in a color that complements your skirt or even matches a shade in your skirt. The best part about a monochrome top is that you can top it off with a gorgeous necklace π You could make it more fancy by picking a lovely pair of heels! If you are doing a night out, grab a nice clutch or a small night bag.

Keep it Casual Yet Edgy
This one needed some thinking, keeping it casual is simple, just pick a tee to top off your skirt, but that’s a tad bit boring. So I looked through my wardrobe to find something to give it an edge. I found two things, a denim vest and a leather jacket! If it’s nice outside go with the vest or if it’s windy grab the jacket! Keep your shoes edgy, peep toe booties with the leather look or perhaps some loafers with the vest. A crossbody will complete either look nicely. Either way your look will be eye-catching!

Peplum all the Way
Another simple way to go for a night out is adding in the peplum! I personally love peplum tops. If you are petite like me, the peplum top will look great on you. Pick a nice pair of sexy heels, add in a pair of long earrings and a necklace to dress up the top! I really love the combination of peplum and a structured bag, it looks classy! Take this outfit out for a spin and tell me about all the complements you receive π
