Have you thought about how you could stay comfortable all day long no matter what season it is? The kind of comfort that also has you looking chic albeit not the kind that has you ready for a party! I recently did a post on Fashion vs Comfort and expanding on that I wanted to share some tips to stay comfortable!
Jeans or Shorts
I can live in a pair of jeans all day long if I need to! I promise! The same goes for a pair of shorts. The reason I prefer these to a dress or a skirt is because I can sit anyway I please in pants. I don’t have to cross my legs, or make sure my skirt isn’t riding too high up my leg or make certain my dress won’t fly when I am walking and I could go on and on. It’s just hassle free and oh so comfortable to be in a pair of jeans or shorts.
There is nothing like a good ole cotton tee! I love it when the material is breathable, soft and comfortable. It makes a huge difference when you can get through a day without sweating much and cotton really helps with that!
The Semi Tuck
Have you worn a tee and properly tucked it in and the raised your arms all the way up in order to give it a little slack. Then made sure the top fell around your jeans just right? Then a few hours later you had to go to the bathroom and now you have to do the darn process all over again! Gosh who has the time?! Not to mention a tuck all around is a tad bit uncomfortable sometimes. It’s because of this that I love the semi tuck. All you have to do is tuck in the little area of your top around the belt buckle and thats it! You can stay comfortable and it’s easy peezy!
Keep a Layer Handy
Are you the person that always feels cold? Yup, thats me too! Make sure you always have a layer on hand. I light weight jacket, a sweatshirt, a cardigan or even a cashmere scarf is a good solution. Trust be it’s better to be safe than sorry!
As a girl with uber straight hair maybe I shouldn’t be the one to say that productless hair is a hard choice. But let me explain. When I need to curl my hair I have to use hair spray, or a gel, the kind that makes my hair slightly hard. Now imagine the wind catching my hair, that’s it I am done, my hair gets so entangled I sometimes end up breaking it trying to get the knots out! So unless you are wearing something that eases the frizz or is really light weight avoid products. Natural hair is always the best and most comfortable even though the curly haired girls want straight hair and vice versa 🙂 It’s just not worth it sometimes!
Very Light Make Up or Better Yet None at All!
I love my make up! Let me be honest. I am the last person to completely opt out. However I have discovered that you can still wear a little and enjoy a day in the sun with the feeling of bare breathable skin! All you need to do is apply your regular moisturizer or sunscreen or both and then use a light weight compact powder to even out your complexion. Then use a little waterproof mascara and perhaps a little lip tint and that’s it, you’re ready!
I love lounging around the house with my socks on. My feet feel warm and cozy. So why not make it fun?! Socks are available is all sorts of fun prints, designs and colors. Get a fun pair and make your lounging around more vibrant!
As a petite girl I have always had a bias towards heels. I have only recently started embracing sneakers. To tell you the truth, I am loving the feeling of comfort and I am not sure I would ever consider giving these up when I want a comfy and chic look. It’s also so awesome that I can find sneakers in cute colors, prints and styles 🙂 I am currently really loving a pair of blue gingham sneakers I have, they are adorable and I can stay comfortable all day long!
So here are the 8 tips you can follow, no matter what the season is, to make sure you can stay comfortable and still looking chic! What do you think? Do you have some more tips? I would love to hear them and so would my readers!
