Boost Your Confidence With Fashion

“Self-confidence is the best outfit, rock it and own it!”

That phrase has got to be one of favorites! With confidence you can conquer almost anything and so I’m going to tell you some of the ways fashion helps me achieve that. When I feel like I look good, I really feel confident. Confidence isn’t about external beauty but like Mandy Hale said it’s the ability to feel beautiful without needing someone to tell you!

So what are my personal tips? Here they are:

Embrace Your Body

There are so many body shapes and sizes, whatever you are you are beautiful and you should embrace that! I am a barely 5 feet tall, I have what most people would call an hourglass figure. Sometimes on my tiny frame I dislike that shape but I have learned how to love it and how to dress in a way where I feel confident, comfortable and happy! So know your body type, no matter what your body type is there will always be clothing that flatters!

As a petite girl with an hourglass shape I tend to choose rompers, skinny jeans, sheath dresses and pencil skirts. I love clothing that defines my waist and elongates my frame!

Know Your Colors

So what’s your skin tone like? What undertone do you have? Whats the color of your eyes and your hair? These are some questions that will help you know what colors of clothing suit you and make you look fab!

Greens, blues, purples and pinks look great on people with a cool undertone. Both light and dark-skinned people can have a cool undertone. Anne Hathaway and Alek Wek are examples of celebs with cool undertones.

Yellows, oranges and reds look great on people with warm undertones. Jennifer Anniston, Beyonce and Nicole Kidman are celebs with warm undertones.

I have a warm undertone so I love yellows, oranges and reds. They really make my skin pop!

Highlight Your Favorite Features

What is it that you love about your face? Is it your eyes? Your lips? Maybe your cheekbones? There is so much to choose from! Well whatever it is make sure you highlight it, either boldly or subtly when you do your makeup!

I usually tend to either highlight my cheekbones or my eyes. It depends on my mood. But doing either of those makes me feel pretty which translates to confidence!

Get a Good Pair of Heels

Another one of my favorites for a confidence boost is a pair of heels! I am 5 foot nothing, anything I can do to get a few inches always makes me feel more confident! I also feel like a good pair of heels makes me stand up straight and generally gives me a good posture. This in turn also makes me feel like I can do anything!

As Marilyn Monroe famously said “Give a girl the right shoes and she can conquer the world!”

Trends Come and Go!

Trends come and go, if you love them and feel comfortable in them then by all means embrace them. But you don’t have to! It’s your style, personalize it, make it yours and you’ll feel great!

You can have a go to look or style that you love. I personally will tend to go the preppy route, I know how to put one together quickly and I know I will feel confident in it. But maybe you are more boho chic or perhaps more casual? That’s fine, own it! It will show in your body language and trust me confidence is the best accessory of all!

My hope is that you will find what it is that makes you feel confident with these tips! All these work for me and I swear by them 🙂

Beautiful lace romper! Your blue bag and leopard print pumps are perfect with it. I really enjoyed reading your style tips, too. As a fellow petite, I also wear a lot of pencil skirts and sheath dresses to the office. I am in some kind of heel almost daily. The extra height helps with a slimming effect, which I need.

Thanks for linking up with Fabulous Friday!
