There are all kinds of ways to save money when you’re living on a budget, or if you are simply looking for ways to live a more frugal lifestyle, for whatever reason.
You can use price comparison sites to switch to cheaper utility providers. You can compare cell phone service providers when you’re looking for a fairer deal. And you can commit to good habits at home to make savings in all kinds of ways, such as wrapping up warm instead of turning your heating up to the max. And this is all well and good.
However, if you are something of a fashion diva, you might resist the idea of wearing cheaper clothing when you’re out on the town, so this may be one area of your spending that regularly dents your bank balance. But know this. You don’t have to break the bank when you’re looking to keep it classy. You can still treat yourself to branded clothing, but you can do it by paying less.
#1: Hit end-of-season sales
This is the obvious way to save money on designer fashion. When stores need to clear out their winter stock in preparation for summer wear and vice versa, they will also mark down the prices to get shut of them quicker. As a savvy shopper, you should take advantage of these sales. Sure, you might have to wait a few months before you get some wear out of the clothes you have bought, but you can still rest easy knowing that you have something classy in your wardrobe that didn’t cost you the earth.
#2: Visit a thrift store in a high-end part of your town
Many of us resist the idea of visiting a thrift store. This is partly because we don’t want to wear second-hand clothing, and partly because the clothes on offer aren’t always as fashionable as we would like. However, it all depends on the thrift stores you visit. Visit a high-end part of your town or city; the sort of place populated by those with money to burn and check out the thrift stores in these locales. After all, even the rich need to get rid of their older clothes somehow, so you might be able to pick up something that is usually expensive at an incredibly discounted price.
#3: Rent designer clothing
Why buy when you can rent? Many high-end stores, both on and offline, give you the opportunity to wear the latest fashion for a limited time. So, if you’re looking for something to wear for a special occasion, you don’t need to buy something that you may rarely wear anyway. Rent instead, and then return it the outfit when you have finished with it. Alternatively, consider subscribing to a rental service. For one (reasonably) low-cost payment, you can refresh your wardrobe monthly using a site such as Rent the Runway, so you will have always have something new and in trend to wear.
#4: Use an online coupon site
Make savings at your favorite fashion retail stores by using a coupon app or website. Many of them offer you points on your purchases as well, so you can make further savings if you regularly shop online. You need to be quick in some cases; deals don’t last forever, so be sure to check the apps or websites you regularly use to net yourself a bargain before it disappears. For your information, here are some of the best coupon sites online; each of them perfect for saving money on designer fashion.
So, don’t break the bank when you’re shopping for clothes. You can look good and still save money, so consider the suggestions raised in this post. Let me know what you think, and if you have any other money-saving ideas for my fashionista readers, be a sweetie, and share your tips with me.
