Booties are a part of my outfit almost everyday in fall, winter and spring. That got me thinking about how many different ways you can style them in your day-to-day looks. I have pulled together 16 different ways to wear booties. Read on to get all the deets!
I have divided the looks based on the key item of clothing I am wearing – Shorts, Dress, Skirts, Jeans, Coat. This will also make it easier for you to see the different ways I have styled the looks with booties 🙂
Shorts and Sheers Stockings
This is probably one of my favorite combinations – Shorts and Booties! I love it because of how it elongates my legs and makes my tiny frame look taller. The sheer stockings add a layer of class. This is a great look for a night out.
Skorts and Fall Colored Booties
When fall is just starting out, the temperature is still nice and the sun is beaming down kicking on a pair of burgundy booties looks great. The burgundy reminds me of the fall leaves and definitely adds a touch of edge to any look. Combining that with a pair of black skorts really enhances the look making the booties standout.
One key way of turning your summer dress into a fall look is by adding a pair of booties and a cardigan to the outfit. Booties look great on a short dress. Depending on how warm or cool it is you can layer on a jacket or a cardigan.
Sweater Dress and Tights
The sweater dress, booties and tights combination is great for full-blown winter. This warm and cozy look is very versatile and can be worn to work as well as a dinner!
This one is taking a printed summer dress, throwing on a blazer and pulling up a pair of booties to make it a great fall work look. The blazer adds in the work touch and the booties add the feel of fall. Oh and the gorgeous print adds the touch of spring if that’s when you want to wear this look!
Lace up Booties and Tights
Lace up booties is another way to go. The reason I love lace up booties with a dress is to really show off the booties. If it is a tad bit too cold then make sure to add in tights and a cardigan like I have.
I really like the pencil skirt and booties combination. My main reason for choosing booties instead of boots here is that with the traditional length of the pencil skirt the booties allow for some leg to be shown. Us petite girls need all the help we can get in the leg department 🙂
Pleated Skirt and Sheer Stockings
When you have a pleated skirt and it’s flare, to take it into fall add in a pair of structured booties and some stockings. The structured booties add the much need slimming effect to the look so that our tiny petite frames don’t look overwhelmed. The stockings give it a layer of protection from the cool breeze. This is a great look for work!
I love colored stockings! They really add a touch of fun and a pop of color to any fall or spring look. Combined with a pair of booties really makes the look great for fall, winter or spring!
Sequined Skirt and Fishnet Stockings
Got a night out coming up? It’s cold outside? Then I have the perfect combination for you. Grab a lovely sparkly skirt and a monochrome top, pick out a pair of fishnet stockings and kick on a pair of peep toe booties and viola your look is ready!
The asymmetrical skirt and booties combination isn’t something you will see often. But when the skirt is so polished and perfect for work, the best way to transform it into a spring or fall look is to add in a pair of booties.
Jeans Rolled Up
If you want to show off your booties then one of the ways to do that when you’re wearing jeans is to roll up the hem of the jeans to sit just above the shaft of the booties. You could leave a little gap between where the rolled up hem ends and where the shaft begins making it a great look for early fall or late spring where the temperatures are getting warmer again.
Jeans Tucked In
Want to show off your booties with no exposed skin? Then this is a great way to do it! Tuck the hem of your jeans into the booties. This will have the shaft of your booties over the jeans. This is a great way to show off your booties in cooler climates where you don’t want any exposed skin.
I love colored jeans in spring. But in the initial months of spring when it’s still chilly the best way to wear them is with a pair of booties. This way you can get all the beautiful color of the denims to show rather than cover it up with a pair of boots.
In spring, when the snow is finally melting but it’s still cold, pairing a lovely long woolen coat in vibrant colors with a pair of booties looks fabulous!
The short boho coat and booties combination is also to die for! You could throw the short coat over a skirt like I have or even a pair of jeans. However, finishing with a pair of booties is key to keeping the fall or spring vibe 🙂
There you have it, 16 ways to wear booties. I have all the looks ranging from casual to work to night out! You can mix and match some of these ideas and come up with new looks too. All in all the booties are arguably one of the best cool weather outfit completers a petite girl could ask for!
